The Indigenous People in Taiwan
The indigenous people in Taiwan culturally and linguistically belong to the Austronesian group. The common characteristics to the Austronesian peoples are insects, snakes and building houses on stilts to protect against damp; adopting slash-and-burn farming style; being keen on chewing betel nuts, being good at bamboo and rattan weaving; relying on hunting and fishing and so forth.
About the Culture Park
It’s divided into three parts : Comprehensive building, unique displays, and traditional building of tribes. To show the ethnic customs, the indigenous people also perform the traditional dance they danced in the festival. In the display area, it exhibits different topic of relics in daily life such as agriculture, hunting, fishing, clothing, music, pottery, and engraving.
